Immigration Information & Support

Beyond Our Limitations (BOL) has a mission to provide support to international students in the United States, so that they succeed academically, professionally, and socially. One of the ways we are pursing this mission is by providing useful immigration information and resources to international students. We have achieved this by:

• Hosting a greencard workshop where an immigration Attorney shared how to petition for the NIW (National Interest Waiver) green card, independent of an employer

• Partnering with a law firm to provide discount on petition fees for BOL members when filing for the NIW green card

• Sharing information on how to successfully expedite a pending application (such as your application for work authorization) with USCIS

• Hosting events on how to legally navigate layoffs

• Creating a forum for international students to share and support each other’s immigration experiences.

Our goal is to expand our impact by:

• Creating more awareness to international students about the options available for them to maintain a legal status when faced with shortcomings in their career (such as layoffs, delays in securing employment, e.t.c.)

• Working with these students to petition for cases with USCIS
